Welfare Support Worker

Racing Welfare is a national benevolent charity supporting working

and retired staff, including their close dependants, from the British

thoroughbred horseracing and breeding industry.

Due to the opening of our brand new office and young person's

accommodation in Malton, North Yorkshire in early 2015, we are

looking for a committed and motivated person to join our team.

The post holder will provide comprehensive support to the Regional

Welfare Officer as well as providing housing support to the young

people living in the accommodation. You will support the Regional

Welfare Officer in service provision to beneficiaries of the charity.

The post requires experience of supporting, or a strong desire to

support, people; combined with excellent listening and interpersonal

skills. Experience or knowledge of working with young people would

be an advantage, alongside an understanding or interest in the

horseracing industry, although this is not essential as training would

be provided for the right person.

We are a supportive team and need someone flexible who is able to

get involved and promote the ethos of the charity, and support us in

developing this new and exciting project.

As this post will involve direct contact with young people and

vulnerable adults, alongside some work of a sensitive nature, it will

be subject to a satisfactory, enhanced DBS disclosure. We also

make checks on staff working with vulnerable adults and young

people against the DBS barred lists.

This is a full time permanent contract, Monday to Friday 9:00am to

5:00pm.Closing date: Friday 28th November 2014.
