MCH Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a fast growing charity that specialise in providing accommodation, support and guidance to homeless young people based in Leamington Spa.
We are looking for dedicated support worker to join our client’s team and help provide support to vulnerable young people in a safe environment, with the aim to encourage them to develop their confidence and daily living skills to equip the for independent living.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced support professional with knowledge and understanding of promoting independent living with young homeless people. Ideally you will have experience in support work, housing, homelessness, family support, casework, outreach work or youth work.
Duties may include:
- To support the young people with all aspects of daily living skills and signpost them to specialist support services
- To support the young people with preparing for moving into independent accommodation
- To ensure a high standard of domestic hygiene is met throughout the Project and to carry out cleaning tasks as necessary
- To advise clients on budgeting and money management, record and collect personal charges to minimise arrears, complete budgeting plans and/or refer to specialist debt advice services
- To respond and report urgent safeguarding concerns, ensuring the young person’s immediate safety, reporting concerns to the manager on call and recording accurate details
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 in health and social care, or equivalent
- Due to the nature of this role, car drivers are required
