The Sister/Charge Nurse's main responsibility is to provide clinical management for the orthopaedic ward. This will include leading and developing the team, acting as a role model and clinical expert. They will with local training and developments, ensuring the team are working to best practice levels of patient care. They will also manage allocation of case load and manage resources efficiently and within budget.
This is a full time position, Monday to Friday with shifts of 7.5 hours. There will be an average of 2 evenings per week and alternate weekends, rotation onto night duty every 4 to 6 weeks.
Duties and Responsibilities
???Lead, coach and develop team members, including involvement with local training and education
???Allocate work load across the team dependant on team members' skills and experience
???Budget management
???Supporting the Modern Matron on facility wide initiatives
???Audit and continuous development of the oncology unit, working towards best practice at all times
???Ensuring the highest level of patient care at all times through effective monitoring of own and team performance
Skills & Experience
???RGN with NMC PIN
???ENB 998
???Relevant post graduate qualification
???Pain management experience or qualification
???Significant post graduate experience in an orthopaedic or surgical ward within a hospital setting
???Experience at Sister/Charge Nurse level
???Demonstrable evidence of management and leadership skills
