LOCATION: Potton / Gamlingay

JOB TITLE: Practice Nurse

SALARY & BENEFITS: Commensurate with experience

WORKING HOURS: approximately 25 hours per week, Monday-Friday, plus additional hours as required covering for annual leave and sickness

THE COMPANY: Our client is a General Doctors Practice with surgeries in Potton and Gamlingay. With 7 Doctors and 4 Nurses across the practice they offer services to patients in the local area including the running of regular clinics such as antenatal, family planning and flu. They also offer minor surgery and injury services to their patients dealing with non-life threatening accidents quickly and efficiently.

THE ROLE: Due to retirement an opportunity has become available for a Practice Nurse to join the team. The role will involve carrying out Practice Nurse duties at both the Potton and Gamlingay surgeries. You will deal with patients, help with queries and make sure records are kept up to date and follow up appointments are booked.

Key Responsibilities to include:-

Chronic disease management

Dressings/wound assessments

Removal of sutures

Immunisations - childhood, adult and travel

Ear syringing

Cervical cytology

Venepuncture

Injections

Dietary advice

Blood pressure checks

Urinalysis

Assist with minor surgical procedures as required

THE CANDIDATE: The ideal candidate for this position will hold an RCN registration and have previous experience as a Nurse. Experience of working within a General Practice would be preferred but full training can be provided for the right candidate. A full driving licence and your own transport will be essential to the role as you will need to cover both surgeries as needed.
