Support Worker
Livability is a national Christian disability and community engagement charity that delivers a variety of community projects, disability care services and training resources across the UK. We also share our expertise internationally. Our vision is of a transformed society where disabled and disadvantaged people can live life to the full. That’s why, since 1844, we’ve been campaigning, training and pioneering projects - services to help improve the wellbeing and social inclusion of disabled adults and children.

Right now, we're looking for Lifestyle Support Workers to join the friendly team that helps our service users live more fulfilling lives, your base will be at Lifestyles South East based in Eastbourne.

Role Requirements

Day-to-day, you’ll provide vital support as, working to a personalised care plan, you help them develop independent living skills. Most (but not all) roles are based in the community rather than a care home and involve assisting residents with a variety of individual needs, including personal care. We’ll also rely on you to escort them to local events and activities, thus enabling them to have an active social life and to engage with their community.

No social care experience is required, although if you already have some that’s great too. What’s essential is a real desire to help others and a driving licence and access to a car for work. Generally you’ll work Monday - Friday, but may need to be able to work outside of normal office hours, including weekends, nights and public holidays on a rota system. In return, we’ll teach you how to understand an individual’s communication and language needs, physically move and position people if needed and how to recognise when someone may be struggling to communicate with you. You’ll also benefit from plenty of support and guidance and a wide range of benefits.

If you have a caring and compassionate nature and would like to help other people maximise their quality of life, the role of Lifestyle Support Worker could be your ideal next move.
