We are currently recruiting for a Bank Kitchen Assistant/Housekeeper to work at Daniel Yorath House which provides residential support for adults who have a range of physical disabilities, complex needs and neurological conditions.

Please note: this is a BANK position to provide cover as and when required; eg for planned absence such as annual leave, or unplanned absence such as sick leave. The hours and days will vary accordingly.

We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant/Housekeeper to join our friendly team in our catering department, to provide homely nourishing meals for our service users and staff. As well as working in the catering department you will will be responsible for keeping the service clean and tidy. Able to cover flexible hours in line with the Trusts needs during periods of sickness and annual leave. NVQ opportunities will be available.

Applicants will need to be:

-Flexible and adaptable

-Able to work alone but also as part of a team:

-Use initiative but willing to work under guidance & direction.

-Be committed to undertake training

The main purpose of the role is:

-To assist in the daily preparation of cooked nutritious meals for service users ensuring food is of a high quality -To ensure health, safety, environment and hygiene standards are achieved and maintained.

-To assist in the planning and preparation a varied choice of menus, ensuring properly balanced and nutritious meals are provided, taking into account any special dietary requirements and service user preference

-To follow any dietary or food preparation guidelines as provided in service user care plans and guidance by health care professionals

-To assist the Cook in maintaining appropriate levels of stock -Ensure high standards of food management within current Food Hygiene regulations and policies and procedures

-To use electrical and mechanical catering equipment as appropriate
