An excellent opportunity has now arisen for a Children’s Residential Support Worker to join our client in Birmingham on a full time permanent basis.

We are recruiting for one of the UK’s leading care providers of residential care placements and education for looked after young people.

Our client helps to supports young people aged 12 up to 18, who have complex needs such as Emotional Behaviour Disorder, and challenging behaviour. Our client’s homes are rated as outstanding by Ofsted and they all provide high quality accommodation for vulnerable and challenging young people in safe, pleasant city, rural and semi-rural areas across the UK.

You will work as part of a team of support workers providing direct day to day care, direction and support to young people who present challenging, emotional and social difficulties and to maintain and promote an environment using the outdoors as a medium for healing within the parameters of local and national child care practice.

Other duties will include sleeping in / shift work, including evenings and weekends on a rota system and providing on call support including evenings and weekends on a rota system.

In order to be successful in this position, it is essential that candidates hold:

  • an NVQ Level 3 or a Level 3 Diploma in Children & Young People
  • Previous experience in a similar Support Worker position
  • Due to the nature of this role, a full UK driving licence is essential.

Salary: £15,000 - £17,000 plus £3,000 for sleep ins.
