JOB TITLE: Care Duty Manager


SALARY, HOURS & BENEFITS: 12-18 months Maternity Leave cover - £10.54 per hour based on a minimum of 19.6 hours per week. You will be required to cover various shifts including 'sleep ins' for which you will be paid an enhancement of £31.50.


THE COMPANY: Our client is a very sheltered housing development of 41 self-contained apartments plus communal areas based in Luton which include a small restaurant. The help manage the support services to enable the owners to retain their independence and to continue to live at the Court for the whole of their retirement.


THE ROLE: Reporting to the Manager, the Care Duty Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day work while on duty' in particular, supervision of the team of Housekeeping Assistants who provide personal care and domestic help to Owners.


Key Responsibilities of a Care Duty Manager to include:-
  • To administer medication to residents as well as re-ordering medication and repeat prescriptions.
  • To set out and plan the Housekeeping Assistants' task sheets ensuring that their workload is clear on a daily basis.
  • Will be involved with the care planning and reviews of residents within the sheltered housing.


THE CANDIDATE: The successful candidate will have an NVQ Level 3 in Care. They ideally will have previous experience within a similar role, working with elderly people. They will have a caring nature with a good sense of humour. The candidate will have patients and empathy who can build trusting relationships with the residents whilst continuing to carry out their daily duties.


Key experience essential for the role of Care Duty Manager based in Luton:
  • Must live within a commutable distance of Luton centre.
  • It's essential that the candidate will have an NVQ Level 3 in Care.
  • Ideally the candidate will have previous experience working with the elderly but this is not essential as full training can be given.
