An excellent opportunity has arisen for a benefits officer in Portsmouth. As a benefits officer you will be involved in assessing claims for housing and council tax support, dealing with customer enquiries both face-to-face and on the telephone, carrying out customer interviews. You will also be validating housing and council tax support applications, making relevant enquiries and utilising all the necessary information to ensure entitlements are assessed correctly.
Ideally you will have experience in working in a similar role as well as possess excellent communication skills in both spoken and written form. Have excellent customer service skills as well as a good eye for detail. You will need good computer skills as well as being a team player and have a flexible attitude.
